How Many Days Should You Plan for a Tanzania Safari?

The right safari length depends on what you want to see and how fast you want to travel. A shorter safari can still be excellent, but the parks you include and the number of long driving days should be planned carefully.
For a compact northern circuit, three to four days can work well with Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and Lake Manyara. That format gives you strong wildlife variety without trying to cover too much ground.
If Serengeti is part of the plan, five days or more usually creates a better experience. The Serengeti deserves time, and adding it to a short safari can turn the trip into more transit than exploration if the route is not designed carefully.
Longer itineraries, such as seven to ten days, allow for a deeper experience with multiple Serengeti regions, cultural visits like Lake Eyasi, or a more relaxed pace between lodges and camps. This is often the best choice for guests who want both iconic wildlife moments and time to enjoy the atmosphere of each place.
At Evarest Adventures, we build safaris around your available days, not around fixed assumptions. That way the route stays realistic, comfortable, and worth the journey.
